Hey, I’m Roy David — a filmmaker, VFX artist, and storyteller based out of LA. I’ve been directing short films, building animated worlds, and blending gritty drama with special effects ever since I was a kid choreographing fight scenes in my neighborhood with a camcorder and too much imagination.

I’ve worked across live event productions: filming a live performance by NOTD, in front of thousands, led an A/V team for a ballroom/international conference event, built CGI environments in Blender and Unreal Engine, ran and directed narrative films in virtual studios, and so forth. My passion lives at the intersection of heart and spectacle — whether that’s an emotionally loaded animated pilot, a music video, or a fast-paced action sequence with complimenting VFX. I love working with collaborative crews and I’m not afraid to lead or get my hands dirty in production either, having a construction background.

To me, story is the crux of it all- it’s the skeleton of what to display to your audience and how to compliment those shots with metaphors. Whether I’m animating a dystopian world or shooting a late-night music doc, I’m chasing something that makes people feel. I believe the most powerful stories come from places of truth, and I’m here to help tell them.
